In today’s retail landscape, it is no longer enough to rely on retailers at a shopping center or mall to drive traffic as consumers are now looking for something more than just a shopping experience. Richard Rizika, Partner & Co-Founder of Beta Agency, recently spoke about retail centers becoming the third-place for consumers, now, we are seeing Los Angeles mall renovations currently undergoing billions of dollars worth of upgrades in order to appeal to today’s consumers. Richard Rizika recently spoke to the Los Angeles Business Journal saying “In some cases, it’s what you have to do to survive”, specifically noting that the $1 billion upgrade to the Westfield Century City mall has been successful increasing the length of stay for consumers and boosting revenue for retailers. There are a lot more Los Angeles mall renovations underway and coming in the near future.
